Chipset: your phone's whole computer is ONE chip
A phone chipset is an SoC: CPU, GPU, NPU, ISP and 5G modem on one die with RAM stacked on top, all working together on every photo.
Your phone's whole computer is ONE chip. 🧠📱
In phones, "chipset" means SoC = System on a Chip. About the size of your fingernail, with billions of transistors (10+ billion in top phones).
Inside that one chip:
1️⃣ CPU → runs your apps (usually 8 cores: big fast ones + small battery-saving ones)
2️⃣ GPU → graphics + games
3️⃣ NPU → AI: face unlock, photo tricks
4️⃣ ISP → turns the camera sensor's raw data into a photo
5️⃣ 5G MODEM → calls + mobile data
6️⃣ RAM → a separate chip, in many phones stacked right on top
Take ONE photo and they all work together: ISP → NPU → CPU → GPU → your screen. (Shown slowed down. In real life it happens in a blink.)
Why one chip? Short paths = faster. Less power = longer battery. Tiny = thin phone.
Snapdragon, Dimensity, Exynos: all SoCs.
